This simple elf is something older children can make themselves, and ideas like this are great for parents who have a million things to do in the run-up to Christmas. It also makes a great little gift, and making a series of them can be a relaxing, meditative activity for adults on a long winter's evening. All you need is a little leftover yarn of any colour, a roll of paper and a ball of wood or beads. Find out how to make it in the sequel!
To make the hat, we used about 25 cm of yarn, which we quickly cut to size using a notebook. We knotted them tightly around a one-and-a-half-centimetre hoop of paper roll, then turned them over to the other side - this is how we made the brim of the cap. If you don't have stuffing at home, you can use leftover yarn, fabric or cotton wool for this purpose. The pom-pom for the beard is now made using the fork method, but in this post,we'll show you another option. All that's left to do is to glue the two parts together with a glue gun and add the little wooden ball that represents the nose. If you want to hang it on a tree, tie a string through the cap!
Feel free to vary the colors and make special elves!
